Trinity Academy offers up to 18 places of the year 7 intake to applicants who show an aptitude in music.
What does the test involve?
There is a multiple choice listening test involving a number of exercises and excerpts of music played through speakers. Answers will be recorded by the candidate on paper. The questions will be on recognising whether pitches are higher or lower, whether rhythms have changed and other tests of your musical ear.
The highest scoring students will be offered a 1-to-1 test. BCCS also use the same first round school (Bristol Cathedral Choir School). This will also involve further ear/aural tests.

Download our Training Test Materials to use with your music teacher to help familiarise you with the style of tests you will hear on the day. Please note we do not sell the exact same tests that your school use so do be prepared for some variety of questions.
