We are entering the busy Summer season for enquiries for specialist music tutoring for students in Year 5. Book a Tutoring Session.
If you do not see an available date then keep checking back as we will add more dates to our Eventbrite page so do follow the account and you will receive an email as new time slots become available.
We have been successfully preparing young musicians for Music Scholarship entrance to UK secondary schools for over a decade.
We offer 1-to-1 Music Scholarship tutoring online. We are using a free video conferencing software called Zoom to administer online tutoring. We have used this method for several years as we are based in South London but have tutored children from different cities in the UK without them needing to travel a long distance to visit us. If you would like to book an online session, please see our Eventbrite page.
This video gives you an outline of what we will cover in the online lessons:
We are running individual MAT training sessions online to prepare students for secondary state school admissions to schools such as Ashmole, Dame Alice Owens, Mill Hill County, Leventhorpe, Twyford, Kingsdale, Haberdashers, Prendergast and many more UK schools. We can prepare students for MAT entry to all UK schools as we help you gain familiarity with the style of the test you will hear on the day. Do note that every school uses a different test and these change each year so we will give you the confidence to adapt to the questions that you hear on the day.
These sessions are open to all students, not just our piano students. We have been successfully preparing musicians for scholarships for over a decade. Our head teacher has published articles in Music Teacher magazine about the scholarship process.
We have just added new dates for 1-to-1 tutoring during the upcoming months: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/se22-piano-school-16475016451
Please note we do not offer phone or email consultations or support but we will answer all your questions about the scholarship process in the 60 minute lesson.
And finally – please note that many parents contact us and ask us if we offer the exact test for download and can prepare them for the very same questions they will hear on the day of the test. The simple answer to this is no. Each school uses a different version of the MAT test and they change it each year. We offer sample training tests for online download that are very useful to help familiarise you with the style of tests you will hear on the day but these are not the actual test you will hear on the day. We have been successfully preparing students for the first round of the scholarship using these tests for many years and we keep the tests updated regularly. The tests are based on the Standard MAT test but they also include one Enhanced Test that combines the extra features used by schools such as Ashmole and Habs/Prendergast. You can download the test materials here: https://musicaptitudetest.wordpress.com/.
