All of our students in 2017 successfully passed the Round One Music Aptitude Test selection process for Haberdashers’ Aske’s and Prendergast Hilly Fields school.
Here is some feedback on the Round Two auditions from a candidate that sat the audition last year and achieved a music scholarship place. Whilst this is a firsthand account of their experiences, do be prepared for some variation as everyone will be playing different instruments at a different level.
Aural Tests:
Hum/Sing back a very short melody that was played on the piano; Clap back a short rhythm that was played on the piano. You will hear this twice.
Questions asked:
What is your favourite style of music:
Other Information:
- There is no need to bring a copy of the music.
- Someone is available to accompany you on the day if required. You may not bring your own accompanist.
- A warm up room with piano is provided.
- The audition was on a grand piano.
